In addition, each year we conduct workshops that bring together many of these eminent researchers where the latest findings are shared and discussed. You will have the opportunity to participate in workshops and attend lectures by registering with us. Check our Events page or request our newsletter for the schedule of upcoming workshops, lectures, lab tours, and other AirUCI events. Summer Program for Grade 7-12 Science Teachers Each summer AirUCI offers a two-week program for science teachers of students in grades 7-12. The program consists of lectures each day by the AirUCI faculty along with daily lab sessions. University credits are awarded and a stipend is provided. For more information, please contact Professor Nizkorodov at nizkorod@uci.edu or (949) 824-1262. Community Day AirUCI holds an annual Community Day on the UCI campus each spring. This event is designed to present an overview of our research to those in the community at large who may not have a background in science, but who nevertheless have an interest in air quality, climate change, and similar issues into which AirUCI conducts research. For a general idea of the event, see info about Community Day Summer Research If you are a community college instructor in Chemistry, you may apply for a summer research post with AirUCI. Our summer positions last for 10 weeks and involve experimental, theoretical, or modeling research in our labs at UCI. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in our workshops and attend lectures given by leading researchers in the field of Atmospheric Chemistry. For more information or to apply, please contact Professor Barbara Finlayson-Pitts at bjfinlay@uci.edu or (949) 824-7670. Postdoctoral Researcher Positions Would you like to join our AirUCI team? We often have openings for postdoctoral researchers under each of our PIs. We encourage you to explore the work of the individual PIs on our People page and submit a cover letter and CV to the professor whose team you might like to join. You can also send them to Melissa Sweet at the address on our Contact page.
