Kinetics & Processes Symposium

On February 14, 2005, AirUCI co-sponsored  the 22nd Annual Informal Symposium on Kinetics and Photochemical Processes in the Atmosphere at the Beckman Center on the UCI campus.

More than 160 attendees represented many of the top universities in California along with such agencies as the Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL), the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD).  They attended presentations by the following invited speakers:

  • Dr. Barbara Finlayson-Pitts of AirUCI
  • Dr. Scott Samuelson of UCI (and serving on our AirUCI Advisory Committee)
  • Dr. David Cocker of UC Riverside
  • Dr. Veronica Vaida of the University of Colorado at Boulder

In addition, 50 posters were displayed, showing research ranging from "Significance of the Urban Canopy for Atmospheric Chemistry" to "Investigating the effects of Microwave heating and vaporization on atmospheric aerosol particles".
