Computer kinetics
modeling is applied in several ways in this project.
-
First, it is a
critical component of the quantitative analysis of experimental data
from the aerosol chamber.
-
Second, it is used
in a state-of-the-art
airshed model
to integrate the insights gained from the experiments and theory
to assess the atmospheric implications of chemistry at interfaces
on local to regional scales.

The schematic below illustrates the model dimensions when applied to
Southern California, and the typical numbers of species involved in the
calculations.
