Research Abstract |
The main objective of our research is the discovery of new reactions of synthetic and mechanistic interest. This exploratory program is complemented by target-specific syntheses. In this regard, selected natural products that are structurally amenable to function as bioreductive alkylating agents, and thus potential anticancer agents, are of particular interest. In addition, we are interested in the design and synthesis of non-natural products that will selectively cleave DNA but only subsequent to an activating chemical step. We have published over 200 papers in these general areas. A few selected examples are given below. |
