Position: Postdoctoral Scholars – Aerosol Chemistry Modeling

A postdoctoral position is open in the area of aerosol chemistry with focus on aerosol chemistry modeling. The successful candidate will work in the group of Prof. Manabu Shiraiwa at the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine, focusing on kinetic modeling of multiphase chemistry of secondary organic aerosols and reactive oxygen species in the aqueous phase.

Applications are being sought from recent Ph.D. graduates with backgrounds in Atmospheric or Physical Chemistry or a related field including computational science or chemical engineering (degree date of 2015 or later). Salary is commensurate with experience.

Candidates with prior experience on kinetic modeling, thermodynamic modeling, or regional/global atmospheric modeling are preferred. Other position requirements include solid publication record (preferred to have 3+ first author papers), team work experience, very good oral and written communications, interpersonal skills, initiative, creative and innovative thinking.
