Phi Beta Kappa International Scholarships are for international graduate students who are pursuing a Ph.D. or M.F.A. and are engaged in their final year of graduate study in 2021-22.  One award of $1,000 will be made. 

Applicants must demonstrate both academic excellence and significant need.  Awardees are expected to be returning to their home countries soon after completing the degree, and are required to be fully enrolled in Fall 2021 to receive their scholarships; students on filing fee in Fall 2021 are not eligible.

Applicants must submit:

• Completed application form
• Current unofficial transcript
• Short essay describing scholarly and professional ambitions
• Justification of need
• Two letters of recommendation from faculty members, including dissertation chair for doctoral candidates.
