Application Deadline:

Hofstra University Department of Chemistry is recruiting for two full-time/tenure-track assistant professor positions to start Fall 2023 in the areas of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. Hofstra is a large primarily undergraduate institution located in suburban Long Island, NY, about 30 minutes from NYC. They offer ACS-accredited BS degrees in chemistry and biochemistry and a BS in forensic science. Hofstra is a medium-sized department of 15 full-time faculty and 150 majors, with resources to support faculty research and teaching, and a strong publication record. Significant startup funds are provided, and grant-seeking is expected. The teaching load is 3-2 and class sizes start at 40 for intro classes and shrink to 10 for advanced classes. Hofstra's chemistry department serves only undergraduate students, who are eager to be mentored and engage in research. Their best students matriculate at top PhD and MD programs.

Hofstra invites graduate students and postdocs who have an interest in both research and teaching. A PhD is required by the start date, September 1, 2023. Teaching experience, especially with a diverse population of learners, is highly desirable. The link to each job application is below. Applications will be considered until the job is filled; review of applications will begin soon.
