GROUP WEBPAGE

You can access the group webpage by consulting the information technology folks on the first floor of Rowland Hall. They may provide you the recommended client software to transfer files to and from the host server. As of August 11, 2013, you may download WinSCP for free from the internet.

File protocol: SFTP

Host name: home.ps.uci.edu

User name: jhemming

Someone must know the password. If not, consult the information technology folks to reset the password.

The group webpage is in the "public_html" folder. Each individual page sits in an individual folder and named "index.html." It helps to have a webpage software but you can still open the files with Windows "Notepad," reverse engineer, and edit the text. Please make backups before you make major changes.

If you are adding photos of new members, go the "grads" folder. With Adobe Photoshop, you can open the "gradthumbs.psd" file which contains layers that form a template.
1. Obtain a picture of the person of interest.
2. Select a square around the person's face, cut, and paste to a new file.
3. Convert the image to "grayscale," then shrink to 100 x 100 pixels.
4. Copy image into the opened "gradthumbs.psd" file benath "Layer 1."

For images, the maximum width is about 525 pixels.
