UCI Professors Rachel Martin and James Nowick, along with graduate student Marquise Crosby and undergraduate student T.J. Cross, were featured in the publication of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for their work on seeking protease inhibitors to aid in the fight against SARS-CoV-2.

Chemistry Professor Don Blake (M.S., 1980, Ph. D. 1984) is the recipient of a UCI Distinguished Alumnus Award from the UCI Alumni Association. The purpose of the award is "to recognize an alumnus who has achieved great professional prominence in their field and is engaged in the community, furthering the goals of UCI and/or the UCI Alumni Association."

Don will be recognized at a future Lauds and Laurels Ceremony, but in the mean time we congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.
