University of California, Irvine - FACULTY POSITION IN TRANSMISSION ELECTRON MICROSCOPY

The Department of Chemistry and the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of California, Irvine jointly invite applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemistry or Physics who uses electron microscopy as a central tool in research. Outstanding scientists in all areas of materials physics and chemistry will be considered, with soft materials, biophysics, chemical biology, and energy materials of particular interest. UC Irvine is building an Electron Microscopy Center of Excellence around the new, state-of-the-art Center for Transmission Electron Microscopy, home to four high-end TEMs and full sample preparation facilities (http://www.imri.uci.edu/). The successful candidate must be committed to the research, undergraduate and graduate level teaching, and service missions of the University. A Ph.D. degree is required, and postdoctoral experience is preferred.
