Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, people-oriented Molecular Spectroscopy Application Scientist with a strong focus on Pharmaceutical, Materials, Environmental, Energy and Chemical methodologies using UV-Vis-NIR, FTIR, Fluorescence, Raman and Imaging Systems. In this position you will be on a team of application scientists supporting Agilent's North American Life Science and Applied Markets' Molecular and Raman Spectroscopy Business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide presales technical and application support both for internal and external sales team members in competitive sales situations
  • Sample analyses and demonstrations for prospective customers using Agilent's UVVis-NIR, FTIR, Fluorescence, Raman and Imaging Systems
  • Prepare and present technical presentations and seminars to potential customers
  • Provide pre and postsales support for systems in 21CFR compliant environments
  • Provide phone and onsite post-sales technical and application support to Agilent's UV-Vis-NIR, FTIR, Fluorescence, Raman and Imaging user base

 Additional responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of new publications (application Notes and Peerreviewed manuscripts) highlighting Agilent's UV-Vis-NIR, FTIR, Fluorescence, Raman and Chemical Imaging platforms
  • Work with Agilent's Molecular Spectroscopy Product Specialists in the development of technical sales strategies
  • Promote Agilent's UVVis-NIR, FTIR, Fluorescence, Raman and Chemical Imaging platforms and aiding in the training of the sales force
  • Provide reports on activities and technical trends observed in the field to the Product and Field Marketing Team on a regular basis
  • Present Molecular and Raman Spectroscopy information at conferences, seminars and eseminars

Travel Required

  • Yes, 50% of the Time

Qualifications

  • BA, MS degree or equivalent experience 
  • MS, PhD in Analytical Chemistry strongly preferred
  • 4+ years experience of operating an UVVis-NIR, FTIR, Fluorescence, Raman or Chemical Imaging System
  • Pharmaceutical, Material, Energy and Chemical and Food application experience for UVVis-NIR, FTIR, Fluorescence, Raman or Chemical Imaging Systems preferred
  • Strong computer skills and excellent technical written and oral presentation skills 
  • Proven team player, able to work collaboratively on projects and sales opportunities
  • Strong project management experience and skills, able to meet deadlines while handling several different projects simultaneously preferred 
  • Previous lab experience a plus 
  • Available for flexible work schedule and up to 50% business travel
  • Valid Driver's license 

 This position will be located in the US at an Agilent Center of Excellence

  • Wilmington, DE preferred. Santa Clara, CA or Chicago, IL possible
