Behr is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher with a Chemistry or Material Sciences background to join their new product development, research team. The candidate will work on the development of new products and/or refinement of existing products to ensure Behr’s market leadership position.

Requirements:

• Research new technology concepts and identify how they can be implemented into coatings
• Engage with suppliers to aid in the development and implementation of new products/technologies
• Interact cross-functionally with groups outside of R&D to meet project timelines and milestones
• Provide project updates via oral presentations and written reports. The ability to communicate technical results and recommendations to non-technical personnel is critical
• Keep track of technology developments in the coatings and material science research community
• Develop new test methods to characterize and evaluate product performance
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to Technicians and Jr. Chemists

Responsibilities:

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Material Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-motivated creative problem solver
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team or independently
