Lisa Gauf oversees the administration of 4C and EPN, the Department of Chemistry's two Department of Energy (DOE) funded Energy Frontier Research Centers (EFRCs). In addition to her responsibilities with these federally funded centers, she manages a broad portfolio of externally funded outreach and engagement programs within the Department, including the NSF funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Chem-SURF program, the Southern California Undergraduate Research Symposium, and the Nuclear Science Career Outreach Program, supported by the Nicholas Endowment, among other initiatives as they develop. She also holds primary administrative responsibility for the Department of Chemistry's Faculty Awards Committee, supporting the nomination and recognition processes that honor faculty excellence and achievement. A proud alumna of UC Irvine, Lisa holds two undergraduate degrees as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Paul Merage School of Business. Her career reflects a deep commitment to the university, having served in multiple roles across campus before joining the Department of Chemistry in 2023, where she continues to make a meaningful impact on the department's research, outreach, and academic missions.
