Dima Fishman directs the Laser Spectroscopy Laboratories (LSL), an optics and spectroscopy research infrastructure within the Department of Chemistry. The vision of LSL is to serve as a nexus for research and education in light–matter interactions by providing advanced expertise, state-of-the-art methodologies, and a platform that fosters both intramural and extramural collaborations. Its mission encompasses the study of light–matter interactions across temporal, spectral, and spatial domains through the application of linear and nonlinear optics, spectroscopy, and microscopy. Dima Fishman leads, sponsors, and fully supports Laser Spectroscopy Laboratories through a his broad portfolio of research programs funded by state, federal, and private agencies. Through LSL, he actively collaborates with more than 150 research groups across the University of California system and maintains extensive partnerships with domestic and international academic, government, and industry collaborators.
