The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the areas of chemical biology or biochemistry, beginning August 1, 2025. A Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry or related fields is required, and postdoctoral or equivalent experience is highly encouraged. We are seeking candidates who are committed to engaged learning and collaborative, original research with undergraduate students, who employ inclusive practices in undergraduate teaching, and who will participate in the wider life of the Department and the College. Successful applicants will be expected to teach lecture and laboratory courses at the introductory level (general and organic chemistry) and at more advanced levels in their subdiscipline (biochemistry). A willingness to teach courses for nursing and health sciences students is also valued. Candidates are expected to train and mentor undergraduates in the research laboratory and to establish an active, externally funded research program involving our students. Our science facilities recently underwent a major renovation/expansion, giving us ample space for teaching and research.
