Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is now accepting applications for the 4th annual J&J Discovery Chemistry Graduate Research Symposium. The 11/2-day event will be held June 4 - 6, 2025 at the J&J facility in La Jolla, CA. This symposium will recognize exceptional 3rd or 4th year Ph.D. graduate students in the areas of organic synthesis and computational chemistry who are interested in a career in drug discovery following graduate school. Attendees will have the opportunity to showcase their research, network with J&J scientists and learn about career opportunities at J&J Innovative Medicine.

Selected participants will:

• Present their graduate research as 15-minute flash talks

• Attend talks presented by J&J discovery and process research chemists

• Enjoy a keynote lecture by Professor Keary Engle (Scripps Research Institute)

• Learn about career opportunities in discovery and discovery process chemistry

• Network and connect with J&J scientists

• Tour our Therapeutics Discovery facilities in La Jolla, CA

Selection criteria and requirements:

• Ph.D. candidates in their 3rd or 4th year of study at an institution in the U.S.

• Highly motivated students who demonstrate leadership potential and innovative research

• CV (two pages max.) • Research summary (two pages max. including schemes)

• Letter of recommendation from research advisor (upon request from the selection committee)
