The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Chemistry, with expertise in Inorganic and/or Physical Chemistry. The position will start in August 2026. CSUSB is a regional comprehensive university serving a diverse, largely first-generation college student body. The department supports B.A. and B.S. degrees in Chemistry, and contributes to two M.S. degree programs: MS Environmental Science, and a recently added MS Materials Science. 

The new faculty member will teach and develop curricula for upper division courses in the candidate’s area of expertise in addition to introductory and general chemistry courses.  They will develop and maintain an independent and externally funded research program involving undergraduate students and contribute as appropriate to mentoring MS students in the MS Materials Science or MS Environmental Science programs. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in service-related activities at all levels of this institution.
