IVC has established a program called Summer Projects Advancing Research & Knowledge (SPARK). https://www.ivc.edu/mesa/spark

They recently obtained a grant to fund this summer program and pay our students to conduct research over the summer. Since IVC is limited in our ability to conduct wet research, specifically within chemistry, they are in need of establishing a collaboration with universities that can provide such resources.

They are looking to establish a collaboration with a few research groups at UCI to host at least 3 students. The students are expected to work on a research project and present a poster at the end of the program at IVC during our professional development week in August. I will be the faculty liaison between UCI and IVC to help facilitate this collaboration. Some of these students will be transferring to UCI in the fall and may want to continue conducting research for the next 2 years while they finish their undergraduate degree.
