On Thursday October 22, Dean of Physical Sciences and Distinguished Professor of Chemistry Seth Cohen presented for the Department of Chemistry's Inorganic Seminar Series.

His lecture "2025 - The Year of the MOF - From Pores to Polymers" featured his research on the exciting topic of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) in synthetic and materials chemistry. Dean Cohen is a knowledgeable source on this topic, as his laboratory has a 20+ year history in the synthetic chemistry of MOFs, including in postsynthetic modification (PSM), MOF-polymer composites, and more recently low-valent MOFs (LVMOFs).

Following the seminar, Chemistry faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students met for a networking hour to enjoy hors d'oeuvres, meet the dean, and discuss his research.
