Peptide Engineering for Targeting Pathogenic Bacteria and Cancer Cells

*Abstract:*Our group is exploring the specific rules and general paradigms that govern peptide interactions.Peptides are interesting biomolecules that are easy and inexpensive to produce with low toxicity and high specificity. Our primary research interest involves exploring peptides for breast cancer targeting for drug delivery and cancer diagnostics, as well as antimicrobial peptides (from bacteria) as food preservatives, therapeutics and diagnostics.Specifically, the research program is involved in developing peptides to increase the therapeutic efficacy of current chemotherapeutic drugs
