Dima Fishman and collaborators (Grenoble High Magnetic Field Laboratory, University of Cologne, Instituto Intaliano di Technologia at Genova, Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials) demonstrated experimentally and theoretically transition from Rydberg exciton to magneto-exciton under extreme external perturbation. The system is close analogue of what would happen with hydrogen in fields found in white dwarf stars.
