Professor Don Blake to receive the Tolman Medal

Professor Don Blake will be this year’s recipient of the Tolman Medal. “The Tolman Medal is awarded each year by the Southern California Section of the American Chemical Society in recognition of outstanding contributions to chemistry. These contributions may include achievements in fundamental studies; achievements in chemical technology; significant contributions to chemical education; or outstanding leadership in science on a national level. The nominee need not be a Southern California resident; however, most of the award-related accomplishments must have been made in this area.”

2022 Feb Phil Dennison (Physical Sciences) - Each year, Dr. Dennison trains over 150 new users of his facility in the instrumentation, the principles and the applications of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR.spectroscopy). Congratulations Phil!

Professor Maxx Arguilla receives Inclusive Excellence Teaching Award

Assistant Professor Maxx Arguilla was selected as the School of Physical Sciences’ recipient of the UCI Inclusive Excellence Teaching Award given by the Office of the Vice Provost of Teaching and Learning and the Office of Inclusive Excellence.

Professor Rachel Martin elected Fellow of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance (ISMAR)

Professor Rachel Martin has been elected as a Fellow of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance (ISMAR), she one of only four ISMAR Fellows elected worldwide in 2021. Election as an ISMAR Fellow recognizes Dr. Martin's development of new experimental techniques and apparatus, as well as her applications of magnetic resonance measurements to a wide range of scientific problems.
