Our research focuses on controlled polymerization and synthetic approach to prepare well-defined polymers, specially these tailored polymers with branched structure, persistent shape and controlled functionalities. We are also using our new polymers for the targets of self-assembly, supramolecular chemistry, composites, surface modification and biomaterials. In this talk, I would like to introduce the research my group has done in Beijing on following two subjects. a) Shape persistent polymers: Cylindrical polymer brushes have uniformly and densely grafted polymer side chain.
